Shane West, whose real birth name is Shannon Bruce Snaith, is an American actor and singer who was born on June 10, 1978, in Baton Rouge, Louisiana. He made his acting debut in 1995 when he participated on an episode of the TV series “Picket Fences”. After some years playing small roles, he started to gain popularity in 1999 when he began playing Eli Sammler in the TV series “Once and Again”. He got his first starring role in 2000 in the teenage movie “Whatever It Takes” opposite Marla Sokoloff and Jodi Lyn O’Keefe. In 2002 he starred in one of the most popular romance movies, “A Walk to Remember”, alongside Mandy Moore. For this role he received a Teen Choice Award.
