J.J. Abrams is an American filmmaker born in New York City, New York on June 27, 1966. He is best known for writing or producing the films Forever Young, Regarding Henry, Cloverfield, Armageddon, Star Trek, Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens, and Star Wars: Episode IX – The Rise of Skywalker. He started his work in film at 15 years old writing music for the 1982 horror movie Nightbeast. In 2001 he co-founded the production company Bad Robot with Bryan Burk. In 2006 he made his directorial film debut with the film Mission: Impossible III. Abrams has also been part of the films Armageddon, Star Trek, Super 8, Morning Glory, Star Trek Beyond, Overlord, Star Wars: The Last Jedi, Cloverfield, Star Wars: Episode VII – The Force Awakens and more. He has also done work on the shows Alias, Six Degrees, Alcatraz, Believe, Fringe, Castle Rock, Lost, The Office, and others. Abrams has had acting roles in the shows and films Regarding Henry, The Suburbans, Tour de Pharmacy, Nightcap, Family Guy, Diabolique, and Six Degrees of Separation. Throughout his career he has been nominated for numerous awards and has won two Emmy Awards, a Writers Guild of America Award, two Empire Awards, two Saturn Awards and more.
