Mark Burnett was born on London, the United Kingdom on July 17, 1960. He won the Daytime Emmy for Outstanding Lifestyle Program for Martha in 2010 and 2011. He also received a Primetime Emmy Award for Outstanding Non-Fiction Program for Survivor in 2001. In 2013, 2015, and 2017 the Voice won the Primetime Emmy for Outstanding Reality Program. Shark Tank won the Outstanding Structured Reality Program in 2014 and 2016. He earned a Star on the Walk of Fame for his work on television in 2009.
He served as a producer for The Contender Asia, Amne$ia, Toughest Cowboy, Expedition Africa, Wedding Day, How’d You Get So Rich, and StarMaker. He also produced The Apprentice, Expedition Impossible, Rock N’ Roll Fantasy Camp, Are You Smarter Than a 5th Grader, and TKO: Total Knock Out.
