Lady Donli is a Nigerian musician named Zainab Elizabeth Donli. She is a singer and composer who specializes in alternative R&B, hip hop, alternative jazz, and Afrobeat.
Lady Donli was born in the city of Cleveland in the state of Ohio. She is the eldest of six siblings. Her father is from Kaduna, and she grew up in Abuja and Kaduna. She moved to the United Kingdom after finishing high school and earning a law degree from the University of Surrey.
The Evangelical Church of West Africa, where a special type of synchronous praise-chanting had been entrenched, was Donli's first musical influence. Brenda Fassie, Angelique Kidjo, Aa and Erykah Badu, as well as Nigeria's pop pioneers, impacted her work.
