Nastia Liukin Bio
Nastia Liukin is a former Russian-American artistic gymnast. She was born as Anastasia Veleryevna “Nastia” Liukin, on October 30, 1989, in Moscow, Russia. She and her family moved to the United States where Nastia Liukin would begin her career as a professional artistic gymnast, following her parents’ footsteps, both of which are former Soviet champion gymnasts. Nastia Liukin is famous for being the 2008 Olympic all-around champion, a five-time Olympic medalist, a 2005 and 2007 world champion on the balance beam, and a 2005 world champion on the uneven bars. She is also a four-time all-around U.S. national champion. Nastia Liukin represented the United States at three World Championships and one Olympic Games before she decided to retire from sport back in 2012.
