Angels & Airwaves is an American pop/rock supergroup formed in 2005 in San Diego, California by guitarist and songwriter Tom DeLonge, as a side project from Blink-182. It consisted of David Kennedy from Box Car Racer, drummer Atom Willard from The Offspring, and bassist Ryan Sinn from The Distillers. Their debut album “We Don’t Need to Whisper” went gold and sold out concert tickets in 2006. In 2007 the band released its second full-length album titled “I-Empire” and joined the Vans Warped Tour. After some years on hiatus, the band issued “Love” (2011) and “The Dream Walker” (2014). In 2015, after parting ways with Blink-182, Angels & Airwaves became the main project for DeLonge, and the following year he released an EP and a novel by the name “The Chasing Shadows”. In 2020, after some lineup changes, Ilan Rubin took the drummer spot in the band.
