Alan Roger Davies is an English stand-up comedian, writer, actor, and television presenter, who was born on March 6th, 1966. He is most well-known for his role as the namesake protagonist in the mystery drama series “Jonathan Creek” on the BBC. In 1988, Davies made his debut at the Whitstable Labour Club with his stand-up comedy routine. He received Time Out's Best Young Comic award in the year 1991. Alan maintained his career as a comedian by touring and performing in the United Kingdom and Australia, and in 1994, he was awarded the Edinburgh Festival Critics Award for Comedy. Moreover, Alan Davies’s performance known as "Live at the Lyric," which took place at the Lyric Theatre in October 1994, was recorded as part of the "Perrier Pick of the Fringe" season.
