Lindsay Ellis Bio
American author, video essayist, film critic and former YouTuber, Lindsay Ellis was born in Johnson City, Tennessee. She holds a degree in film studies and is an alumni of the USC School of Cinematic Arts. During her post graduation, she was selected by the Channel Awesome production company to host the show ‘The Nostalgia Chick’. After creating over 100 videos for the series, she went on to create long form video essays on her eponymous YouTube channel. She mostly made videos about Walt Disney films but also included series about the work of Michael Bay. The latter has received more than 4 million views. One of her most popular series is ‘Loose Canon’ where she explores film and literary characters over the years. In 2018, she co-wrote and co-edited the documentary, ‘The Hobbit Duology’ which was selected for the 2019 Hugo Awards. Her podcast, MusicalSplaining was also included in O, The Oprah Magazine among the top 20 podcasts of 2020.
