Antje Traue (born January 18, 1981, in Mittweida, Germany) is a German actress. Although well vast in English and German, Traue has a strong body of work in her native Germany.
Her role as the villainess, Faora, in Zack Snyder's Superman retelling, "Man of Steel" catapulted her into the spotlight. She has also acted in other movies including 5 Days of August by Renny Harlin, The Seventh Son by Warner Brothers, The Woman in Gold by Simon Curtis, and Criminal by Ariel Vroman. She has worked with accomplished actors like Helen Mirren, Ryan Reynolds, Kevin Costner, Gary Oldman, and Tommy Lee Jones.
She was also in Stephen Poliakoff's Close to the Enemy for the BBC and Sky/Amazon’s pilot, Oasis. She also starred in the Netflix series "Dark", acted in the feature "Blame Game" which opened the Max Ophuls Film Festival, and played the lead role in the limited series "Dead End".
