James Cracknell Bio
James Edward Cracknell OBE is an English athlete and retired rowing champion who represented England in numerous international competitions. He was born in Sutton, London, England, on May 5, 1972.
James began rowing at a young age, and in the late 1980s, he competed in the Junior World Championships. He became famous in the mid-1990s when he started regularly representing England and Great Britain at a senior international level. His career highlights now include six gold medals at the World Rowing Championships and two gold medals at the Olympic Games. James won gold in the men’s coxless four event at the 2004 Athens Olympic Games with a British team that included Matthew Pinsent, Steve Redgrave, and Tim Foster.
