apl.de.ap is the stage name of Allan Pineda Lindo, a Filipino-American singer, music producer and rapper, best known for being part of the band Black Eyed Peas. He was born on the 28th of November, 1974, in Angeles City, Pampanga, Philippines. At age 14, Pineda moved to Los Angeles, California, city of his adoptive father. In L.A., Pineda met Willliam Adams, also known as will.i.am, and that would mark the beginning of a years-long musical collaboration. They started as a rap duo, performing at local venues in parties and clubs. They signed with Eazy-E’s Ruthless Records in 1992 and three years later, they were no longer a duo, but a full band, and so they changed their name to the Black Eyed Peas. They always performed with a live band and their style was highly original, which earned them international attention. In 2001, singer Fergie joined the band a couple of years later, they released their breakthrough album “Elephunk”. The album made it to international charts, and it was a huge success. Pineda is also a multi-awarded artist, and he holds among many awards, a Myx Music Award. He is also a judge on “The Voice: Teen, Philippines”.
