Jack Hughes is a hockey player born on May 14, 2001, in Orlando, Florida, USA. He is a center for the New Jersey Devils in the National Hockey League (NHL). His professional journey began when he was drafted as the first overall pick by the New Jersey Devils in the 2019 NHL Draft, showcasing his immense potential and promise.
Jack was a member of the USA Hockey National Team Development Program Under-18 team. His outstanding performance led him to become a record-holder with 154 assists and 228 points in 110 games over two seasons. In the 2021/22 NHL season, he amassed an impressive 56 points in 49 games. He also scored his first NHL hat trick.
Jack represented the USA in multiple International Ice Hockey Federation events, earning medals at the IIHF Under-18 Men's World Championship and the IIHF World Junior Championship. In 2018, he won the Dave Tyler Junior Player of the Year Award and was the World U18 Championship – Tournament MVP. Jack made the 2018 World U18 Championships Tournament All-Star Team. He was in the 2022 and 2023 NHL All-Star Games.
