Marina Abramovic is a filmmaker, writer, and performance artist who was born on November 30th, 1946, in Belgrade, Serbia. She currently resides in New York City. Marina attended the Academy of Fine Arts in Belgrade as a student between the years 1965 and 1970. In later years, she also held a teaching position at the Novi Sad Academy of Fine Arts. She is famous for many of her works, such as "Destricted" (2006), "At the Waterfall" (2003), and "The Hunt" (1998). Throughout the course of her illustrious career, she has been honoured with a number of prestigious accolades. Moreover, The New York Dance and Performance Prizes, also known as "The Bessies," were one of the awards given to her in 2003.
