Felix Riebl is an Australian singer, songwriter and composer, born in Melbourne, Australia on May 1, 1981. He is a co-founder, frontman, and main songwriter for the Australian rock band The Cat Empire. Riebl grew up with a musical family and was encouraged to sing and play instruments. In 1999 he co-founded the band The Cat Empire with Ryan Monro and Ollie McGill. Together the band has released eight studio albums and four live albums. In 2006 they won the World Music Aria Award for their album Cities. In 2010 Riebl released his debut solo album titled Into The Rain. He has since released the EP Lonely Truth EP and his second studio album Paper Doors. As a composer, he has composed music for the 2006 Commonwealth Games in Melbourne, The Dream Festival on the Yarra River in 2009, White Night in Melbourne in 2013, and the Australia Day Spectacular at Darling Harbour in 2013. Riebl is an ambassador for the Indigenous Literacy Foundation.
