Donyell Malen (born January 19, 1999) is a professional Dutch footballer, best known for playing as a forward for Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund and the Netherlands national team.
Malen began his professional career with Ajax in 2007. Despite strong opposition from Ajax, he left the club in 2015 to join English team Arsenal, in a bid to follow the footsteps of his heroes, Thierry Henry, and Dennis Bergkamp, who played for the club. In the 2015-16 season, he debuted for Arsenal's youth teams in the Youth Premier League, the FA Youth Cup, and the UEFA Youth League.
Unfortunately, his journey in North London came to an end when he was sold to PSV Eindhoven in late August 2017. After playing five years for his new club, Malen signed a five-year deal with Bundesliga club Borussia Dortmund. He made his senior international debut for the Netherlands on September 6, 2019, in a UEFA Euro 2020 qualifier against Germany in Hamburg.
