Richard Madden was born on June 18, 1986 in Elderslie, Renfrewshire, Scotland, United Kingdom. Richard is a Scottish actor on stage, in film and television as well as a model. He is best known for his roles in 2009 series Hope Springs and Worried About the Boy. He is also well known as Robb Stark in Game of Thrones on HBO and as Prince Kit in Cinderella. He started acting at the early age of 11 when he wanted to find a way to not be so shy so he joined the youth theatre programme at Paisley Arts Centre where he was given the role of Andy in Iain Banks Complicity. He then was cast in the lead role as Sebastian for six episodes from 1999 to 2000 in the TV series Barmy Aunt Boomerang. From then he was cast in other roles at the Globe Theatre including the 2007 production of Romeo and Juliet. In October 2009, he won the Most Stylish Male at the Scottish Style Awards and named one of the Hottest Stars for 2010 in Esquire magazine. In 2011 he was named in Screen International as one of the Stars of Tomorrow. In 2016 he played the leading role in that took place during the Italian Renaissance in Medici: Masters of Florence, an Italian TV series.
