Tom Hiddleston was born on February 9, 1981 in London, England. Diana Hiddleston, a former stage manager, introduced her son, Tom, to the world of theatre and movies. He went to Eton College and the University Of Cambridge where he acted in school productions. His first film outside the school was The Life and Adventures of Nicholas Nickleby (2001). After his role in The Gathering Storm(2002), Tom shifted his focus to English theatre. He graduated from the Royal Academy of Dramatic Art in 2005. He won The Laurence Olivier Award For Best Newcomer in a Play for his role in the play Cymbeline in 2008.
