Clare Bowen was born on May 12, 1984 in New South Wales, Australia. As a child, she appeared in Australian television shows such as Home and Away (1988) and All Saints (1998). She attended the University of Wollongong in New South Wales, graduating in 2006 with a Bachelor of Creative Arts degree before appearing in the critically acclaimed Chandon Pictures (2007).
Bowen’s film career started with her appearance in The Combination (2009), and she would later star in films such as The Clinic (2010), Dead Man’s Burden (2012) as the lead female role, and Not Suitable for Children (2012). Bowen has quite the singing talent as well as a regular in the Nashville (2012) series, where she plays the singer Scarlett O’Connor. Her voice has also led her to perform in many theater productions, including the rock musical Spring Awakening directed by Geordie Brookman.
