Daisy Ridley was born on April 10, 1992 in London, England. She is the great-niece of the well-known actor and writer Arnold Riley. After attending Hertfordshire’s Tring Park School for the Performing Arts, she would be brought on to become an actress in 2015’s animated production Scrawl, winning a Zed Fest Film Festival award. She has also starred in British TV shows such as Casualty, Youngers, and Toast of London, and would later perform in Mr. Selfridge and Silent Witness.
Her true claim to fame rests on her lead role in Star Wars: The Force Awakens (2015), which broke many box office records, earning almost 530 million dollars internationally on opening weekend. She also plays a lead role in the upcoming movie Star Wars: The Last Jedi (2017), and will later play the same role a third time in the ninth episode of the Star Wars franchise, which is scheduled to come out in late 2019.
