Niclas Castello is a contemporary pop artist born in Neuhaus am Rennweg, Germany, on July 21, 1978. He is best known for The Kiss sculptures. He creates boxed-in framed canvases and other conceptual pieces. His first exhibition was in 2009 at the Amsterdam Whitney Gallery in New York. Arleen Schloss mentored him.
The Chelsea Art Perspective and the New York Art World have interviewed him. Niclas has done group exhibitions with artists like Andy Warhol, Roy Lichtenstein, and Robert Rauschenberg. He has exhibited his works in Miami, New York, Hollywood, Hamburg, Montreux, and Venice.
His accolades include the Artsland Award (2012), Best German Artist at the German Art Award and the Signs Award (2017), and European Cultural Award (2022). He received a nomination for Europäischer Kulturpreis in 2022. His works have appeared at international art fairs, including FIAC in Paris in 2011, Art Stage Singapore in 2013, and Art Basel in 2014.
