Latanya Richardson Jackson is an American actress, producer, and director best known for her work in film and television. She was born in Atlanta, Georgia, United States, on October 21, 1949. Latanya began her acting career in 1968 when she appeared in the TV series One Life to Live, and she has since acted in the TV series Blue Bloods, Luke Cage, Grey's Anatomy, Show Me a Hero, 100 Centre Street, Ally McBeal, and Law & Order. Her filmography includes Fried Green Tomatoes, Lone Star, The Fighting Temptations, Juanita, and Freedomland, but she is best known for starring in the action film U.S. Marshals alongside Tommy Lee Jones, Wesley Snipes, Robert Downey Jr., and Joe Pantoliano. Latanya won a Canadian Screen Awards for Best History Documentary Program or Series.
