DJ and record producer A-Trak was born Alain Macklovitch in Quebec, Canada, on March 30, 1982. He is the younger brother of David Macklovitch, who is part of the duo Chromeo. When he was only 15 years old, A-Trak won the DMC World DJ Championship, the youngest to win in the history of the competition. He has also won a handful of other titles in the DJ competition arena, and was at the forefront of creating notation for scratching for DJs. In 2004, A-Trak was called upon by Kanye West to be his personal DJ during his appearances at the Grammy Awards and MTV Video Music Awards.
A-Trak would spend the latter half of the 2000s remixing and scratching for other artists, and in 2009, he and fellow artist Armand Van Helden joined together to form the duo Duck Sauce. The two released the single “aNYway” that October. He was also recognized in the early 2010s as one of the most popular DJs, along with Diplo and Skrillex.
