Karpe Bio
Karpe, also known as Karpe Diem, is a rap group from Oslo, Norway formed in 2000. Karpe is a Norwegian hip-hop duo consisting of Magdi Omar Ytreeide Abdelmaguid, also known as Magdi, and Chirag Rashmikant Patel, also known as Chico or Chicosepoy. In 2004, they released their debut EP Glasskår and song with the same name reached 9th place on VG-lista, the Norwegian Albums Chart staying for six weeks in the chart. Two years later, in 2006, their debut studio album Rett fra hjertet was released and nearly 18,000 copies were sold in Norway. In the same year as the album was released, Karpe was nominated for Best Album in Norway. Their second album, released in 2008, was an even bigger success because they reached third place on the Norwegian Album Chart and more than 30,000 copies were sold. After their third album Aldri solgt en løgn (2010), in 2011 they were the first hip-hop group awarded the prestigious Norwegian award Årets Spellemann.
