Yemi is an Afro-pop and R&B singer and songwriter from Nigeria who gained recognition after winning the Peak Talent Show in 2009. She is best known for her hit “Johnny” that was produced by Selebobo and broke records becoming an international hit and one of the best songs of 2013. When interviewed by the Daily Post in November 2014, Yemi said “If you don’t move forward, you would continue to stay down.” She expressed how happy she was to have released a song that people are happy to listen to instead of crying and feeling bad.
