iLe Bio

Ileana Mercedes Cabra Joglar (popularly known as iLe) was born on April 28, 1989, in Hato Rey in San Juan, Puerto Rico. Her mother (Joglar de Gracia) was a musician, and her father Jose Cabra Gonzalez was a producer. She got her vocal and piano classes in elementary school and also sang in the choir. While in high school she, fortunately, worked with Puerto Rican soprano Hilda Ramos and the great Cuban singer Gema Corredera. La Lupe would come to exercise the greatest influence on her. She is Cabra Joglar’s (also known as Visitante) sister and Rene Perez’s (also known as Residente) stepsister. She began her career as a teenager as a singer and rapper for Calle 13 with the nickname PG-13. iLevitable was her solo debut album in 2016 featuring guest appearances from her father and brothers. iLevitable got her a Latin Grammy nomination for best new artist and also a Grammy for best Latin rock, urban or alternative album. She released Almadura in 2019.
