Steven Curtis Chapman is an American contemporary Christian music singer, songwriter, record producer, actor, and author born in Paducah, Kentucky on November 21, 1962. He released his debut studio album in 1987 titled First Hand and has since released the albums, Real Life Conversations, More to This Life, For the Sake of the Call, The Great Adventure, Heaven in the Real World, Signs of Life, Speechless, Declaration, All About Love, All Things New, This Moment, Beauty Will Rise, Deep Roots and more. Chapman has released 21 studio albums, 7 compilation albums, 1 live album, and 3 video albums. His albums have sold over 10 million copies and 10 of those albums are certified Gold or Platinum by the RIAA. Chapman has been nominated for a number of awards and has won five Grammy Awards, 58 Gospel Music Association Dove Awards and others. He has received more Dove Awards than any other artist. In 2003 he starred in the film Christmas Child.
