Max Holloway Bio

Max Holloway was born on December 4th 1991, in Waianae, Hawaii. Starting out as a student of kickboxing, he later developed skills in Muay Thai and BJJ that would lead to a record of 4-0 at the young age of 19. He began to gain recognition due to a win over experienced fighter Harris Sarimento in 2011, and the World MMA 2012 Scouting Report listing him as the #7 featherweight fighter of all time.

Holloway’s promotional debut with the UFC occurred in 2012, losing via submission to Dustin Poirier. He would go on to defeat Pat Schilling, Justin Lawrence, and Leonard Garcia in 2012, and has since earned seven wins by KO, two by submission, and eight by decision. Most recently he has defeated Anthony Pettis in 2016, winning the UFC featherweight championship at UFC 206, and defeated Jose Aldo at UFC 212 in 2017.
