Anamanaguchi is a music group formed in 2004 in New York City, New York, USA. Their genres of music include electronic, pop, rock, bitpop, and chiptune. They are associated with several record labels, including 8bitpeoples, Normative, dream.hax, Alcopop!, Monstercat, and Polyvinyl. They create emotional punk, pop, and dance music using hacked Nintendos, Game Boys, and 16-bit soundscapes.
Anamanaguchi consists of Peter Berkman (guitar, songwriting), Ary Warnaar (guitar, songwriting), James DeVito (bass, stage visuals engineer), and Luke Silas (drums). They released their debut project, Power Supply, in 2006. The group released its first full-length album, Dawn Metropolis, on March 3, 2009. In 2010, they recorded Scott Pilgrim vs. the World: The Game (Original Videogame Soundtrack) for Universal and Scott Pilgrim creator Bryan Lee O'Malley.
Anamanaguchi co-curated one of the first major live-stream events for indie musicians on Minecraft with the Nether Meant Festival. They have performed on Late Night with Jimmy Fallon and Adult Swim's Fish Center. The group has collaborated with HANA, Planet 1999, Flux Pavilion, Porter Robinson, Dorian Electra, and POCHI. They have released several albums, including [USA], Capsule Silence XXIV (Original Soundtrack), and Endless Fantasy.
