Virender Sehwag, born 20th October 1978 in the Delhi suburbs, has gracefully worked his way to being classified as one of the best batsmen the world has ever seen.
Sehwag developed an unbeatable ability to hit the ball out of the pitch with minimal balls and clever footwork, thanks to his striking similarity to Sachin Tendulkar's style of play and build.
He is a right-handed batter and right-arm off-break bowler whose pundits have been praised for his upper solid and square cutting.
Sehwag has represented various teams such as; The Indian national team, Asia XI, Delhi, Delhi Daredevils, ICC World XI, India Blue, Kings XI Punjab, Leicestershire, Marylebone Cricket Club, Rajasthan Cricket Association President's XI - currently active in Delhi, Delhi Daredevils, and Kings XI Punjab.
His notable achievements include scoring 150, 200, 250, and 300 runs in a test inning and being the fastest to reach the 150 and 200 mark in one-day internationals.
He is the only Indian to get the Wisden Leading Cricketer in the World title, which he received twice in 2008 and 2009.
Virender Sehwag has retired from international cricket. The former India batsman has been out of the team for nearly two years.
He is known for his school, 'Sehwag Worldwide School,' where 22 kids have achieved national or international success.
