Shelley Long is an actress born on 23rd August 1949 in Fort Wayne, Indiana, United States. She is widely recognized for playing Diane Chambers in the sitcom series “Cheers,” for which she was nominated for five Emmy Awards, out of which she won one. She started her career in 1980 by appearing in the drama film “A Small Circle of Friends”. In 1984, she was nominated for a Golden Globe award for the first time for her role in the film “Irreconcilable Differences”.
In 1982, she played a lead role in the sitcom “Cheers,” which was aired on NBC. The show was critically acclaimed and was a huge hit. In the 1990s, she starred in a number of television shows, including “Good Advice” from 1993 to 1994 and “Frasier” from 1994 to 2001. She went on to appear in the television films “Freaky Friday” in 1995, “Vanished without a Trace” in 1999, and “Fall in Love with the Girl Next Door” in 2006.
