Alejandro "Álex" Grimaldo García (born September 20, 1995, in Valencia, Spain) is a Spanish footballer. He began his football career with Atlético Valbonense before joining Valencia's youth system in 2008. In 2011, he made his professional debut with Barcelona B.
Grimaldo suffered a serious knee injury in 2013 but returned to action the following year. He scored his first professional goal in September 2014 for Barcelona B. In December 2015, he signed with Portuguese champions Benfica, where he won several titles, including the Primeira Liga and Taça de Portugal. He made his UEFA Champions League debut in September 2016 and scored his first goal in the competition in October 2018.
In May 2023, Grimaldo signed with German club Bayer Leverkusen on a free transfer. He has also represented Spain at various youth levels, including the U-19 team that won the UEFA U-19 Championship in 2012.
Grimaldo is known for his defensive skills and has played alongside notable players like Lisandro Lopez. He has received individual accolades, including being named in the UEFA Europa League Squad of the Season and the Primeira Liga Team of the Year.
