Juto, born as Jarius Gay, is an R&B singer and songwriter raised in Gwinnett, Georgia. He was the first artist to be signed to Odd Future’s Travis “Taco” Bennett RE7AX Records and is now based in Los Angeles. 22 year-old Juto is a multifaceted instrumentalist, skilled at playing the keyboard, trombone, bass and guitar. He began to self-release singles on Soundcloud in 2015 and was not until 2018 when he released his first EP titled ‘Text Talk’ produced on his iPhone and GarageBand. This is when Travis Bennett discovered Juto, immediately signing him to RE7AX, which is also affiliated with COR/TAN Records. The up and coming artist had his first live performances in 2019, the first being the support act for Daisy and his second as the opening act for well-known R&B legend, Lauryn Hill. Odd Future’s music festival, Camp Flog Gnaw Carnival in 2019. His sonic experimentation has created his alternative R&B and funk sound, landing him over 1 million plays on his single, ‘Wayback – Remix’ featuring artist Quinn XCII. He has also been featured on rapper and singer Logic’s track ‘Can I Kick It’ for his 2019 album, ‘Supermarket’. Juto has released two of his most recent EP’s ‘Velvet’ and ‘Wool’ in 2019. Live Nation’s blog One’s To Watch review on his 2019 EP, ‘Velvet’ to be an evolution of his sound, stating “Despite it being the very early stages of his career, Juto makes an unforgettable impression that leaves us wanting more”.
