Phosphorescent is the stage name of the famous American singer and songwriter Matthew Houck. He was born on July 27, 1980, in Huntsville, Alabama. Matthew Houck created the stage name Fillup Houck before performing under the stage name of Phosphorescent in 2000 when he first started recording, based in Athens, Georgia. He released an album named Hipolit, but soon he decided to change his name into Phosphorescent and released his debut LP named A Hundred Times More in 2003. The next year, he released an EP named The Weight of Flight. He has released eight studio albums since 2001, with the latest being released in 2018 named C’est La Vie. Matthew Houck is a multi-musician playing the guitar, piano, bass, drums, and ukulele while singing vocals.
