Jim Gaffigan Bio

Jim Gaffigan was born on July 7, 1966 in Elgin, Illinois. He started his career in stand-up, working the circuit in New York before getting his break performing on The Late Show with David Letterman. He produced several comedy albums in the 2000s and 2010s. During a stall in his career in the 1990s, Gaffigan appeared in more than 200 commercials. In 1999, he developed a sitcom called Welcome to New York. He was a cast member of The Ellen Show in 2000 and had parts in Super Troopers and 30 Years to Life. He had a guest role in That ‘70s Show and a regular part in My Boys. He had a role in 2008’s The Love Guru before returning to television for a role in Flight of the Conchords.

He appeared in Away We Go, 17 again, Law & Order Criminal Intent, and The Daily Show. He made his Broadway debut in That Championship Season in 2011. His show The Jim Gaffigan Show aired in 2015. Gaffigan has also provided voice work for Bob’s Burgers, WordGirl and Duck Duck Goose.
