Piero Martín Hincapié (born January 9, 2002 in Esmeraldas, Ecuador) is a professional footballer who plays as a center-back or left-back for Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen and the Ecuador national team. Hincapié began playing football at the age seven for local clubs Escuela Refinería, Emelec and Barcelona. At ten, he moved to Guayaquil as a defender with Norte América.
In 2017, he played for Ecuador U15s team and in 2019 he played as captain for the U17 level. He played seven times in Peru at the South American U-17 World Cup and four times in Brazil for FIFA U-17 World Cup. On June 13, 2021 he made his debut for Ecuador senior national team in the Copa América game against Colombia.
In August 2021, Hincapié signed for the German Bundesliga club Bayer Leverkusen. On September 30, he scored his first goal for the club as the opening goal against Celtic in a 4–0 victory in the Europa League.
