Originally formed by the Robinson brothers, The Black Crowes was found in Georgia in 1984. In 1990s, the group released their debut album entitled “Shake Your Money Maker.” The group was then composed of Chris Robinson as the vocalist, Rich Robinson in guitar, Johnny Colt on bass, Jeff Cease on guitars, and Steve Gorman for drums. The single “Jealous Again” is the first in their debut album, and became a moderate hit.
The band’s cover for “Hard to Handle” originally by Otis Redding made The Black Crowes a multi-platinum success. The song was able to reach the Top Ten. Then by 1991, “She Talks to Angels” became their second top hit. The album “Shake Your Money Maker” sold three million copies.
