The Stone Roses Bio
Coming from Manchester, England, The Stone Roses was formed in 1983. It is an alternative rock band. They are known to combine ‘60s-styled guitar with the upbeat music of the ‘80s. Their 1989 album became a crowd favourite leading to the rise of all other bands with similar genres, but it took them five years before a second album was launched.
The Stone Roses came from English Rose, a band formed by schoolmates Ian Brown and John Squire. Then with the addition of Reni, Andy Couzens, and Peter Garner, The Stone Roses started to play around Manchester. But in 1987, Couzens and Garner left the group. Gary Mounfield then joined following the recording of their first single entitled “So Young.”
