Eric Paslay Bio

Eric Paslay, born Eric Thomas Paslay, is an American country music singer born in Abilene, Texas on January 29,1983. From an early age, he was influenced by the oldies his father used to play around the house and at 15 he began to play guitar. He cites Rodney Crowell and Johnny Cash as two of his most significant influences. Following his passion, he moved to Nashville, where he landed an internship with Cal IV Entertainment in 2006 and was eventually signed to EMI Records in 2011. His first hit “Friday Night” debuted in late 2013 and was a top 5 hit on Country Radio Airplay for most of early 2014. The single appears on his debut self-titled album, which was released in February of 2014. “Friday Night” peaked at #6 on the US Hot Country Chart and #47 on the Billboard Top 200. The single also achieved gold status after receiving sales of over 540,000.

Since the release of “Friday Night,” Paslay has released two singles: “Song About a Girl” and “She Don’t Love You”. Both singles debuted in the top 100 of the Billboard Top 200 chart and in the top 20 of the US Country chart.

Paslay is also a songwriter for many of country music’s biggest acts. He co-wrote Jake Owen’s “Barefoot Blue Jean Night,” Eli Young Band’s “Even If It Breaks Your Heart,” and Love and Theft’s “Angel Eyes,” all of which were #1 hits on country music charts. In addition, he wrote Rascal Flatts’ 2014 single “Rewind.”
