Chi McBride was born on September 23, 1961 in Chicago, Illinois. He first began his career as a singer, with the song He’s the Champ getting him enough recognition to sign with the blues band Covert. He moved to Los Angeles and landed guest roles in the 1990s on shows like In Living Color, The Fresh Prince of Bel-Air and Revenge of the Nerds III: The Next Generation. In 1998, he co-starred in Mercury Rising, which led to him landing a role on Boston Public. He also had work on House, The Secret Diary of Desmond Pfeiffer, Killer Instinct and Pushing Daisies.
His film credits include Cradle 2 the Grave, Gone in 60 Seconds, The Distinguished Gentleman, The Frighteners, Narc, I, Robot, Undercover Brother, Let’s Go to Prison and The Brothers Solomon. In 2010, he joined the cast of Human Target.
