Simon Henner, popularly known as French 79, is a musician and producer born on March 8, 1979, in Marseilles, Bouches-du-Rhone, France. He started making music in 2014 when he released his first EP, Angel. His music has elements of electropop, indie pop, and French touch. He is signed to Alter K.
Besides being a solo artist, he plays the guitar with two bands, Nasser and Husbands. His first album, Olympic, which was released in 2016, featured Sarah Rebecca. The album earned him 150 concerts around the world. He also became an ambassador for Marseille's electronic scene.
His sophomore album, Joshua, contained 13 tracks. The album sampled elements from electronic music pioneers and vintage sci-fi soundtracks for films like Blade Runner and War Games. He has collaborated with Laurent Garnier, Vincent Delerm, Munk, The Do, NZCA Lines, Femi Kuti, Les Gordon, BLOW, and Cabaret contemporain. His recent song, So What? was released in 2020. His songs are on Spotify, Deezer and Apple Music.
