Christopher James Weidman (born June 17, 1984) is a professional MMA fighter from the United States. He is a member of the Ultimate Fighting Championship (UFC) and fights in the middleweight class. He was once the UFC Middleweight Champion. Weidman was a two-time NJCAA All-American and a two-time NCAA Division I All-American during his collegiate wrestling career. He began his MMA career in 2008 and joined the UFC in 2011, where he quickly amassed a 9–0 record. Weidman rose to notoriety after defeating Anderson Silva to earn the UFC Middleweight Championship in 2013. Silva's 16-fight winning streak in the UFC came to an end, as did his seven-year tenure as champion. Weidman held the championship for two and a half years, defending it three times until losing it to Luke Rockhold. He was ranked 13th in the UFC middleweight rankings as of October 4, 2021.
