Alicia Vikander is a Swedish actress born in Gothenburg, Sweden on October 3, 1988. She is best known for her roles in the films The Danish Girl, A Royal Affair and Ex Machina. As a child she trained as a ballet dancer and would act in minor stage productions at the Gothenburg Opera House. She started her professional acting career in Swedish television shows and short films. Vikander has had roles in short films like Standing Outside Doors, The Rain, Darkness of Truth, My Name is Love, Susan’s Longing, Jeu de chiennes, The Magic Diner, and The Magic Diner Pt. II. She made her debut on a television show in 2003 in the series The Befallen and has also had roles in the shows En decemberdrom, Levande foda, Second Avenue, and Hook. In 2010 she made her debut in a feature-length film in the movie Pure and has continued landing roles in films like The Crown Jewels, A Royal Affair, Hotell, Ex Machina, Son of a Gun, Euphoria, Tomb Raider and others. Throughout her career she has been nominated for numerous awards and has won an Academy Award, a Screen Actors Guild Award, a Satellite Award, an Empire Award and many more.
