James Patrick Anthony Dore, popularly known as Jimmy Dore was born in Chicago, Illinois, USA, on July 26, 1965. He is an actor and writer best known for his roles in Sham (2000), The Jimmy Dore Show: Live (2012), and Janeane from Des Moines (2012). He earned a marketing communications degree from Columbia College Chicago. In 1989, he started doing stand-up. He is the creator and performer for the Off-Broadway sensation "The Marijuana-Logues," which has been featured in multiple Comedy Central specials. His performances began to incorporate more of his own political comments around 2005. From 2009 until 2019, Dore worked for The Young Turks and made an appearance on the Aggressive Progressives Young Turks Network programme. His writing frequently combines political comedy with satire. He is also the host of The Jimmy Dore Program, a lighthearted chat show on YouTube where he conducts conversations with guests who are interested in politics, business, comedy, or science.
