C.W. Stoneking is a blues singer and songwriter born on April 15, 1974, in Katherine, Australia. He started playing guitar with local bands when he was 13. After moving to Melbourne in 1997, Stoneking privately released a self-titled album of covers a year later. After a short stint with his band, C.W. Stoneking & the Blue Tits, Stoneking continued as a solo artist and played original compositions. In 2005, Stoneking released his debut album of original songs, King Hokum. The album won Best Independent Blues And Roots Release at the AIR Awards. His next album, Jungle Blues, was released in 2008 and received an ARIA award in 2009, and was nominated for Best Male Artist and Best Independent Release. It would be six more years until he released his next album. Released in 2014, Gon' Boogaloo won both AIR and ARIA awards.
