Brook Maurio, better known as Diablo Cody, is an award-winning American author, screenwriter, and film producer best known for her novels. She was born in Lemont, Illinois, United States, on June 14, 1978.
Diablo became famous in 2005 when her book Candy Girl: A Year in the Life of an Unlikely Stripper became a #1 Best Seller. She has since had a decorated writing career that has seen her write novels, for television, and film. Diablo’s book Juno was adapted into an eponymous film that features Elliot Page, Michael Cera, Jennifer Garner, and Jason Bateman.
Her filmography as a writer also includes Tully, Ricki and the Flash, Paradise, Young Adult, and Jennifer's Body.
She has won numerous awards for her writing, including an Oscar Award for Best Writing, Original Screenplay, a BAFTA Award for Best Screenplay – Original, and a Hollywood Film Award for Screenwriter of the Year.
