Lisandro Martínez is an Argentine professional soccer player who plays as a defender in Europe’s top leagues. He was born in Gualeguay, Entre Rios, Argentina, on January 18, 1998.
Lisandro spent his formative years with the youth setups at Club Urquiza, Club Libertad, and Newell's Old Boys, and he turned professional in 2017 when he signed with Newell’s senior team. He has since represented Defensa y Justicia in Argentina, Ajax in The Netherlands, and Manchester United in England. His club career highlights include winning the Eredivisie, KNVB Cup, and Johan Cruyff Shield.
Lisandro joined Argentina’s senior squad in 2019, and in 2022 he won the FIFA World Cup in an Argentine team that featured Lionel Messi, Emiliano Martínez, Enzo Fernández, and Julián Álvarez.
