Lydia Ko Bio

Bo-Gyung Ko, known as Lydia Ko, is a professional golfer born in Seoul, South Korea, on April 24, 1997. As an amateur, she won the 2012 Bing Lee Samsung Women's NSW Open (ALPG), the 2012 and 2013 Canadian Women's Open (LPGA), and the 2013 ISPS Handa New Zealand Women's Open (LET & ALPG). She is an alumna of Korea University.


Lydia became the youngest winner in LPGA history in August 2012 and Ladies European Tour (LET) history in February 2013. She has 24 professional wins, including 18 LPGA Tours, six Ladies European Tours, five ALPG Tours, and one LPGA of Korea Tour. She turned pro in 2013.


Lydia was the youngest winner in the history of the Louise Suggs Rolex Rookie of the Year. Her accolades include Mark H. McCormack Medal (2011, 2012, and 2013), Race to CME Globe Winner (2014 and 2015), Tour Money Winner (2015), and LPGA Vare Trophy (2021). She won a silver medal at the 2016 Rio Olympics and a bronze medal at the 2020 Tokyo Olympics.
