Alestorm Bio
Alestorm is a pirate metal band formed in Perth, Scotland in 2004. The current members of the band are Christopher Bowes on lead vocals and keytar, Gareth Murdock on bass guitar and backing vocals, Mata Bodor on guitars and backing vocals, Elliot Vernon on keyboards and unclean vocals, and Peter Alcorn on drums. The band started in 2004 under the name Battleheart and originally was going to be a power metal band, but after the success of their song “Heavy Metal Pirates” they changed course and adopted a pirate theme. In 2006 the band released their first EPs titled Battleheart and Terror on the High Seas and started to perform live shows. In 2007 the band was signed to Napalm Records and changed their name to Alestorm. They released their debut album in 2008 titled Captain Morgan’s Revenge. They have since released the albums Black Sails at Midnight, Back Through Time, Sunset on the Golden Age, and No Grave But the Sea. They have also released the EPs Leviathan, In the Navy, and Skalstorm and released a live album in 2013 titled Live at the End of the World.
