Ruby Lin Xinru is an award-winning Taiwanese actress, film producer, and musical artist best known for her work in film and television. She was born in Taipei, Taiwan, on January 27, 1976.
Ruby began her acting career in 1995 when she appeared in the film Xiao yuan gan si tui, but she became famous in the late 1990s when she starred in the TV series Huan zhu ge ge and Huan zhu ge ge 2. She has since had recurring roles in the TV series The Duke of Mount Deer, Shao nian zhang san feng, Profound Love in Heavy Rain, Love in the City, Affair of Half a Lifetime, Magician Romance, Di xia tie, and Light the Night, which features Chiung-Hsuan Hsieh, Esther Liu, Nikki Hsieh, and Hsueh-Fu Kuo. Ruby’s filmography includes Sophie's Revenge, My Lucky Star, Mirror, Phantom of the Theatre, and China Strike Force.
She has won multiple awards for her acting, including three Huading Awards for Best Actress in a Motion Picture, Best Actress of The Year For Television Series, and Best Supporting Actress in a Motion Picture.
