Luis Guzmán Bio

Luis Guzmán is a Puerto Rican actor born August 28, 1956, in Cayey, Puerto Rico. Guzmán is one of the most recognized faces in Hollywood, as a staple character role actor for over 40 years in movies and television. His eerie appearance made Guzmán noticeable and memorable early in his career. He started with playing small roles on TV shows like the famous Miami Vice, which paved Guzmán's road to more prominent roles. The actor started playing more noticeable roles in the '90s, such as the 1997 drama film Boogie Nights by Paul Thomas Anderson, for which Guzmán won Florida Film Critics Circle Award and Screen Actors Guild Award. He also portrayed Raoul "El Cid" in the 1998 drama 'Oz'. The role in the 1999 crime drama The Limey directed by Steven Soderbergh earned him the Independent Spirit Award. He also became a recurring actor in both director's endeavors. In his rich career, Guzmán appeared in cult movies like Carlito's Way, alongside Al Pacino, Magnolia with Tom Cruise, The Brave alongside Johnny Depp and Marlon Brando, and many more, making him a legendary supporting actor.
